TRIP TO GLOBAL VILLAGE , SHARJAH

NICE EXPERIENCE TO SEE ONE OF THE WONDERS OF THE WORLD RECREATED AT SHARJAH UAE.

Following is the notes of the trip happened on 30/3/2006 Thursday ..a nice memory on Ugadhi day...

It was a very nice experience to visit the GLOBAL VILLAGE at Sharjah.on 30/3/2006

Myself from Cegelec and Mr.Srinivasan, & Ramanthan from Mott Mc Donald and Mr .Kamaraj from ETA have planned to go to Global village on thursday.. good initiate by mr ram and srini. and the trip was really turned out a good one with nice experience on visiting new places, exploring the route towards sharjah.. as well as a good experience in finding out good indian restaurents...

Mr.Vijay you really missed this trip...

Our great friend Mr Ram was very active and Mr.Sri was also fit to drive a really a long distance trip .. Thanks to him . Mr.Kamaraj also enjoyed.and gave a nice company....


Few interesting moments of the trip..

1. Global village visit.

1A . Reaching Emirates road .....

The route to Global village is under the tele control of Mr.Nethaji ...Thanks to him....
With few missed exits we were able to locate the Emirates road..

But we visited new places like old and new Shahama . Now we knew more than others about these places..

So dont worry friends... all the mistakes on road will help you to know more places and we enjoyed those momemnts of exploring those too...

1b, GLOBAL VILLAGE

• Even after checking with friends about the possibilty of the opening of global village ,we got surprised to see many of the entrances to GV was closed when we reach there.
• We were litle bit upset whether our trip will be a failure. But Mr.Ram was able to see through his long vision despite his....... new sun glasses........ able to observe there are lot of people moving in the area where the Replica monument of Taj Mahal is created/installed.
• After few minutes we are able to go to gate no 1 . and we note that only the Taj Mahal is open..
• We were happy and entered the Global village and entered the Taj entrance..
• The replica monument created was breathtaking and it is enthralling to see the minute details are also recreated with plaster of paris, thermocole and pvc sheets and wood structures.
• The pictures are attached for ur reference and enjoyment...The green garden sprawling around the Taj monument was exactly as the original one and our visit was really useful.
• There were other monuments but could not go as there were closed and will be expected to be open in dec 2006.

Friends dont miss the chance to see our Taj Mahal at Sharjah..The entrance fee per person is 20 dhirams but worth spending .

We had many good views which was captured digitial form .. and all the pictures are attached for your reference .

2. Looking for Indian food ?.. You have Saravana Bhavan....Aryas.. Kamat., etc.. at Sharjah..

Even though the distance from Global village to Sharjah city centre is only 28 to 29 km it took us Two (2 )hours due to the famous traffic jam which always move at a little better than snail .

After having continuance guidance of Manikandan,,my cousin at sharajah .. thanks to the inventor of Mobile phone,other wise we might have gone to Ajman or Rak...We had nice coffee at his house and the search to look for Indian Restaurent started..

After a little bit struggle we were able to locate not one restaurent four indian restaurents inAl Faizal Street.

For friends benefit the Hotel Saravana Bhavan(HSB) is next to HSBC Bank easy to rememeber. Both eating and banking re well controlled by these establishments....

Opp to this You can see Aryas restaurent, next to that Kamat ( Our hindi friends wont go there as KA.. MAT Restaurent ..just kidding.. )Nice restaurents. If you want to go to Wood lands you have to search more as it is not on the main road...

All our Indian friends ( like us) were very active to quench their hunger even at 11 pm queing these restaurents .. we waited for 15 mins to get our place .

The meu at ARYAS are really good.. nice Iddlys .. so light and soft you can eat many nos.. Vijay please note again....( VELUTHU KATTITTOMLA..)

We ate a lot and the items are as follows ....

We had Podi Onion dosa, Veg Dosa, Fulkas, Kulchas,and nice chutneys, with a good tomato soup as Starter..Quality seems to be good.. may be we were too hungry too.. Lucky we were not too late other wise mr ram would have eaten us .. just kidding again...

There were lot of quite interseting topics ( mr vijay to note ...) discussed and we missed you and you could have come with your family too in your favourite car Peageot 307.

I was missing my family and any howhow i have planned to visit again once they are here in April 2006. and waiting for their visit...

3. Return to Abu dhabi...

After nice dinner we returned and we enjoyed the old songs ( mr sri recorded 20 years back ...) and they were really fantastic...

To list a few: Songs from Karnan, Chandhrodhyam,Kadhalikka Neramillai,Many old MGR film songs etc, etc, ...

Mr Ram and Mr Kamaraj had enjoyed their nap and were also enjoying music in between...(????).

In total the trip to sharjah and return is around 12 hours ( 3 PM TO 3 AM )but every moment was enjoyable...

Thanks to Mr.Sri ,Ram and Kamaraj and looking for more trips like this...

While return the amazing concrete strutures and the architecture of buildings in Dubai was a nicetreat to our eyes..
